Wallingford Bar Spoon

Here is an antique silver plated bar spoon marked “Wallingford Co. A1/2”. “Wallingford Co.” Is a trademark of R. Wallace & Sons. The end of the twisted handle is unusual. Instead of the Windsor pattern common to bar spoons, this spoon has what I would describe as a three dimensional teardrop shaped handle. The spoon measures about 8 iand 1/8 inches long.

The back of the teardrop section of the handle has a slightly indented section from the mold in the manufacturing process. The plating has more of a satin finish which I believe you can see in my photos. There is a tiny scuff to the finish on the back of the bowl. There are no scratches and the spoon is in very good condition.

This spoon has good weight and a nice balance to it. It’s a lovely bar spoon with an unusual and attractive handle design.
