Here is an antique three piece cocktail shaker which is nickel plated. It is marked ” Manning Bowman & Co. ” (double stamped). It measures 8 and 1/4 inches tall.
The last photo shows an ad for Whitall Tatum & Co. from an 1893 issue of “The Pharmaceutical Era” and an insert from an 1893 issue of “American Druggist” describing how this “egg-breaker” shaker is constructed. Apparently Whitall Tatum retailed this Manning Bowman shaker. Whitall Tatum was known for its production of glass insulators and pharmaceutical glassware.
I have not yet found a patent for this design.
