Here is an antique silver plated julep strainer that is marked with an anchor symbol followed by “Rogers” another anchor symbol and “AA”. This is a backstamp of Wm. Rogers & Son. It measures approximately 5 and 1/2 inches in length and the bowl measures approximately 2 and 3/4ths inches wide.
The star cut-out or “Star” pattern julep strainer is known to have existed as early as 1886 as it was featured in the 1886-87 Meriden Britannia catalog. This strainer has a fancy design on the front of the handle.
