Here is an antique silverplate bar spoon marked “W.B. 1900”. “W.B.” stands for Williams Brothers. The end of the twisted handle is unusual. Instead of the Windsor pattern common to bar spoons, this spoon has what I would describe as a three dimensional teardrop shaped handle. The spoon measures 8 inches long.
William Brothers Manufacturing Company was founded by brothers James B. and William Williams circa 1880 and remained in operation until the late 1940s. The factory was located in the Naubuc section of Glastonbury, CT. James B. Williams is well known for his shaving soap.
This spoon has good weight and a nice balance to it. It’s a lovely bar spoon.
