Here is an antique julep strainer that is marked “Aldrich & Ray Mfg. Co.” It measures 5 and 13/16ths inches in length and the bowl measures approximately 2 and 5/8ths inches wide. The handle has a cut-out clover pattern. The bowl has a swirl design.
Aldrich & Ray Manufacturing Company was located in Buffalo, New York. It was established in 1879 by Schuyler Aldrich. Five years later Isaac A. Aldrich entered the firm and two years afterward George A. Ray was admitted. They manufactured a full line of hotel, restaurant, soda fountain apparatus and house furnishing goods.
